Modeling Portfolios: A Must In The Industry

Get your model portfolio todayAt its core a modeling portfolio is a collection of photographs you used to represent yourself.  Whether you’re an aspiring model or one with years of experience.  The one thing that you will all have in common is a modeling portfolio.  Having a modeling portfolio is the first step to becoming a full-time fashion model and is not something that you can ignore. Of course, your modeling portfolio should be the best photos you have and should be representative of the skills and talents that you bring to the table.

Getting Your Modeling Portfolio Right

Having head-shots in your portfolio is something that is universal in the fashion industry.  From there, you and your photographer will decide on the other looks that will work best for you.  Often, you’ll pick something casual or sporty, and another photo that’s more formal.  The last photo is something that is unique to you and could be anything from a photo that shows off your incredible abs, your sporting prowess, or your awesome hair.  You and your fashion photographer will be able to hash this out fairly quickly and early on in the process.

Quality Not Quantity

Don’t be lured in by the idea that you need a lot of photos in your portfolio.  It’s simply not true.  In fact, if you have too many I would bet that most of the photos will be ignored or you’re not going to be taken seriously.  At first blush, an art director or fashion designer is only going to take a look at a few of your photos and make a snap decision from there.  There’s no point in overwhelming them with photos that they aren’t going to look at.  And it’s only going to take one poor photo that they don’t like for them to remove you from consideration.

Professional Photos Please!
